Central Ohio Vocational Alternatives Looking for HineyGate Volunteers!
Saturday, October 3, 2009
WHO: We need volunteers age 18 and above to support a FUNdraising effort to benefit COVA. We need 35 volunteers for each shift. If you know anyone else who would be interested in helping out or needs to fulfill volunteer hours, please forward this message on to them!
WHAT: Work a shift at the OSU-Wisconsin HineyGate festivities and COVA earns money for your efforts selling and pouring beer, cleaning up or working as a runner for supplies.
WHEN: Saturday, October 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
We need to cover 12 hours of shifts. You pick which time block works for you. You may work 3, 6, 9 or 12 hours.
WHERE: 364 Lane Ave., adjacent to St. John Arena, in front of Riverwatch Tower Condos.
WHY: COVA can earn upwards of $6,000 for one day of fun! This money will support individuals with mental illness and other barriers to employment and successful recovery.
HOW: Choose from the following time blocks:
• 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
• 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. (Don't worry, you won't miss kickoff! Watch the game during the 3:30 shift on the jumbotrons at the site.)
• 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The more you work, the more COVA nets, so let us know how many 3-hour slots you can fill. Pick out your shifts (and have a backup just in case) and let us know by Monday, October 5, to ensure you get your selected time(s). Also include names of friends or family members who wish to join.
OTHER INFO:
Parking
COVA is working out options for a shuttle from COVA’s Clintonville offices and will have a map of other options available if you prefer to drive when we confirm shift times.
Cancellation
Each volunteer will sign in and out with the event manager. If you commit to volunteer, you commit to working your shift or finding a replacement if you have an emergency and cannot attend.
